Thank you very much for responding to the CBD parklets survey. We received 112 responses to the survey and the responses were very mixed. Just over half of the respondents were ‘happy’ or ‘very happy’ with the parklets (50.4 %) in contrast, 40.5% were ‘very unhappy’ or ‘unhappy’. The remaining 9% of respondents felt neutral about the parklets.
The main feedback we received about improving the parklets was that they were too hot and had accessibility issues. To address these concerns, we are currently investigating how we can provide shade over the parklets and improve their accessibility for everyone to enjoy. We also plan to continue trialling the parklets over the year by moving them to two new locations in the CBD, in consultation with nearby businesses. Parklets are also being considered in light of the new Business Activation Plan in development.
