Empowering Tomorrow, One Conversation at a Time.
Join the Climate Conversations, where Listening Leads to Action.
Council is proud to be hosting a series of monthly Climate Conversations, whereby they will take on the primary role of listening to communities concerns, needs and aspirations. The aim of the series is to support individuals and community groups in taking positive steps towards climate action. With a focus on place-based solutions, enabling existing community groups and providing resources and education, Council would like the series to empower individuals and groups to take action and progress projects. Each session will be facilitated by a trauma-informed community member.
Climate Conversation topics will be based on the intersection between impact and interest:
What topics impact climate change, reduce our greenhouse gas emissions or will help us adapt to the changing climate?
What topics are community members most passionate about?
Climate Conversations are free events open to all.
Upcoming Climate Conversations
COMMUNITY-LED ACTION - Thursday 30 May, 5:30 - 7:30pm at The Channon Hall, 10 Mill Street, The Channon
In May we will be discussing community-led action. Community groups and organisations are key drivers in addressing climate and supporting their communities pre and post climatic events. For this conversation, we will be joined by members of The Channon Resilience Incorporated who can share their efforts, achievements and learnings in both preparedness and response. Climate Conversation events are social, informal and open to all, including children, if you have any other access needs or requests please get in touch. Free finger food will be provided at this conversation.
Let us know what topics you're interested in for future conversations by taking part in the quick poll . Where possible, topic experts will be invited to the conversations to share their knowledge and resources, if you have knowledge to share, please get in touch with Jamie.
