I had a traumatic brain injury in a motor vehicle accident. It was more years ago than I am prepared to remember, but it's safe to say that I've lived for more than half my life with a disability. The early days were bewildering and dreadful, but I committed to being the best me that I could be and to getting on with life, always learning, always pushing my boundaries to the limits of what I am able to achieve.
These days, I live with my husband on a custard apple farm at Numulgi, near Dunoon. We're in a marketing group to sell our custard apples at the metropolitan markets, and somehow I've found myself being the market co-ordinator for the group and a regional representative for custard apples. My main passion and delight in terms of "what I do", is to draw and paint. I spent eight or nine years at both Lismore TAFE College and Southern Cross University doing art school, and have a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Diploma of Fine Arts from both of those wonderful places of learning.
