Consultation has concluded
Local Artists Wanted to make our CBD a place where everyone feels safe
Lismore City Council invites Expressions of Interest from local Artists or a collaboration of Artists who have a strong connection with the local area to develop and deliver artwork that will enhance two community-selected sites in the CBD.
These sites are part of the pilot for Transport for NSW's Safer Cities: Her Way program, which is aimed at improving the real and perceived safety for women, girls and gender-diverse people when walking or moving to, through and within public spaces and transport hubs.
About the Project
Lismore City Council has been successful in receiving $1M of funding under the Transport for NSW’s Safer Cities: Her Way program. The project aims to create and test positive long-term change in public spaces through demonstration projects.
Following the community consultation, two locations were identified for demonstration projects;
- The Harold Fredericks Carpark; and
- Unnamed Open Laneway from Woodlark Street to the Browns Creek Carpark.

Unnamed open laneway to Browns Creek Carpark- Big Scrub / rainforest theme
- Themed artwork painted on the asphalt footpath

- Themed Artistic / sculptural fencing
- Themed green wall artwork.
