Greens Bridge scheduled works - 25 August 2023

Works to replace Greens Bridge are scheduled to commence on Friday, 25 August 2023 and will continue into early 2024, subject to fine weather conditions and contractor availability.

What are the works?

The Greens Bridge replacement project is aimed at replacing the existing aged timber bridge with a new reinforced concrete structure of sufficient width to provide for two lane traffic. This will involve installation of new sub and super structures to provide a durable, cost effective structure with a 100-year design life.

What are the traffic adjustments?

The existing bridge will remain open to traffic whilst we construct the new bridge. However, there will be temporary traffic control measures in place with some delays periodically during the day.

What do I need to do?

Please commute through the worksite at low speed, obey adjusted speed limits and directions from any traffic controllers, and drive carefully. We would appreciate your cooperation with all traffic control and workplace protection measures to help keep everyone safe.

Who should I contact with questions/ concerns?

We apologise in advance for traffic disruptions you will experience over the coming months while we carry out these essential works. Every effort will be made to keep these disruptions to a minimum. If you have any concerns, please call our Manager of Road Construction, Lyla Nolan on (02) 6625 0500 (24-hour service) or email council@lismore.nsw.gov.au and include the title ‘Greens Bridge – Stony Chute Road’.
