Community update at the GSAC Evacuation Centre

Lismore City Council Mayor Steve Krieg and Emergency Services personnel gave residents at the GSAC Evacuation Centre an update this morning.

Mayor Krieg said that he understands the pain people are feeling and is working to help our community during this flood disaster.

Mayor Krieg was encouraged by the community spirit and determination to help each other and that Council is doing everything possible to assist residents at the Evacuation Centre.

Police Superintendent Scott Tanner also assured the community every possible asset is being deployed to assist our community and that police are working with Council to help with the needs of the Evacuation Centre.

The GSAC Evacuation Centre is currently asking for community volunteers to help sort the donations as they are currently experiencing bottlenecks in getting these items sorted and distributed to evacuees.

As always, thank you!
