Flood Recovery

Lismore Regional Airport sustained extensive damage from the February 2022 natural disaster event. Lismore City Council are working with disaster funding agencies to restore and repair the airport to pre-flood condition. Council is making improvements (or ‘betterments’) where feasible to reduce the impacts of future natural disasters on airport operations.

The status of airport infrastructure is outlined below.

Airport users - please continue to check NOTAMs for the most current information.

The following airport infrastructure is serviceable

  • RWY15/33 including sealed taxiways and parking aprons (some minor repairs are required to taxiways and aprons however all are in service)
  • WBU/AWIS
  • Obstacle lighting – serviceable or NOTAM in place where applicable
  • Runway and taxiway edge lighting
  • BOM Lismore Weather Station
  • Windsock including night illumination
  • 24 hour aircraft refuelling facilities
  • AVDATA

The following airport infrastructure is unserviceable. Council is seeking flood recovery funding to repair these assets as soon as possible.

  • Boundary fence
  • PAL/AFRU
  • PAPIs/RTILs/REILs
  • Terminal building
  • Grass taxiway

We thank you for your patience as we progress these works.
