The Lismore City Hall to the River Pedestrian Spine is one of four projects funded through the “Revitalisation of the Lismore CBD” project funded by the NSW Government.

The project is the construction of a 2.5m wide concrete footpath connecting Lismore City Hall to the existing path at Riverside Park, through the centre of Heritage Park. The path will provide improved connectivity and accessibility for pedestrians travelling from Lismore City Hall through to the Wilsons River and vice versa, whilst also enhancing user experience for visitors of Heritage Park.

The works include a concrete footpath from Molesworth Street to Victoria Street with a raised deck surrounding the fig tree in the centre of the park. It will also include lighting. Access to the Visitor Information Centre and toilets from Heritage Park will also be improved.

The deck under the fig tree at the centre of Heritage Park is now complete and open as well as the majority of concrete footpaths through the park.

The final pathway works are scheduled for completion in late April with works continuing through the school holidays, but will have only a minor impact on the use of the park - the access from Victoria street (near the waterplay) will be closed. The main access from the Molesworth Street carpark will be open.

The new paths will provide much needed accessibility and connection through the park, from Molesworth Street through to Riverside Park, as well as lighting and seating.

The miniature railway and water play area will be operating as normal, including daily through the school holidays.
