Mountain Top Road - Flood Recovery
Geotechnical drilling is required to investigate sub surface conditions at landslips which have occurred on Mountain Top Road, starting from approximately 500mtrs north of the Jacobson Road intersection. To ensure safety for motorists, a full road 24-hour road closure is required at the work zone for approximately three weeks, starting Monday, 10th October. Road closure has been in place since March, due to the nature of the slips.
A road closure with traffic detour is required, as the drill rig being used will block the entire road during operation. Please consider if access to your property is best via Jiggi Road or Stony Chute Road to avoid unnecessary delays.

***UPDATE - Jiggi Road - First section has been completed, with an additional five to be completed. There have some delays due to weather, with scope of works reviewed to ensure damages due to heavy rainfall are remediated.***
The construction schedule to remediate the landslip will be determined based on the scope of works and availability of subsequent contractors. Construction is expected to occur in 2023, residents will be notified at each stage of the works. Temporary measures including gravel fill, to improve driving conditions of Mountain Top Road will be completed shortly while permanent landslip remediation works are reviewed.
