Description
The park to be named is within a new subdivision of Platypus Park Estate DA20/488.
Origin
The name junbung is from the Widjabul country – Bundjalung language group and means platypus. The reserve is in the Platypus Park Estate and includes a portion of Tucki Tucki Creek which is a known habitat for platypus. The name has been approved by the local Widjabul Elders and the Geographical Names Board.
