Thank you for your assistance.
Council has completed assessments and preliminary works on a number of rural roads, identified below.
In order to complete the mentioned upgrades, funding must be sought. Council is committed to applying for applicable grants for State and Federal funding to assist with the construction costs of the identified roads. At present these road upgrades are eligible under the ‘Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP)’ grant.
We ask for assistance from the community to complete a 5 - 10 minute survey, with the feedback providing essential information to support the grant applications.
Bridge Street, Wyrallah - Road Upgrade
Council has identified the section of Bridge Street from Wyrallah Public School to Wyrallah Hall in need of an upgrade. The road is a sub-arterial road in Council's road hierarchy network and provides a vital south-eastern connector route for the Shire, being the Wyrallah end of Tregeagle Road. Council has previously undertaken design investigations of this segment of Bridge Street. The design intent is to widen the road to 7m width seal formation, address camber issues of the road formation and superelevation of the bends. Other items such as line-marking, drainage and signage will be taken into consideration as part of the detailed design process.

Coraki Road & Wyrallah Ferry Road, South Gundurimba - Intersection Upgrade
Council has identified the intersection of Coraki Road and Wyrallah-Ferry Road in need of an upgrade. The intersection is an 80km/hr posted speed zone however it’s observed that many vehicles travel higher than the posted speed limit. The intersection does not provide for any turn left lanes or deceleration turn right lane from Coraki Road into Wyrallah-Ferry Road. There are also a significant number of heavy vehicles using these roads daily.
If Council was successful under the SLRIP grant, then it would undertake a detailed design investigation that would inform the geometric design outcome of the intersection upgrade. At present, Council has a concept that is lending towards a dedicated turn left lane and a deceleration turn right lane from Coraki Road into Wyrallah-Ferry Road, but this could only be confirmed through a detailed design process. Other items such as guardrail, line-marking, drainage and signage will be taken into consideration as part of the detailed design process.

Rosehill Road, Tuncester/Blakebrook - Road Upgrade
Council has identified the section of Rosehill Road from Kyogle Road to the crest just past the Rock Valley Road intersection in need of an upgrade (excluding the new bridge under construction). The road is a sub-arterial road in Councils road hierarchy network and provides a vital north-western connector route for the Shire between Nimbin Road and Kyogle Road as well as the thoroughfare to Cawongla and surrounding suburbs.
