Caniaba Street closed to through traffic for 12 weeks

Caniaba Street, between Three Chain Road and Casino Street, South Lismore, will be temporarily closed to through traffic from Monday, 4 November 2019 for approximately 12 weeks.

The road closure will enable SEE Civil to deliver fill to a private landowner directly adjacent to the project site in the shortest possible timeframe. Landowners receiving fill from the site went through an extensive Expression of Interest process to qualify to receive this material.

Closing this section of road will allow the delivery of fill to take place quicker, without the need to traffic the material via heavy vehicles on a longer, alternative route. This should speed up the project significantly and minimise the impact on local roads.

Detours will be signposted and drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes during this time. Access to properties within the work zone will remain available.
