Consultation has concluded

This is an graphic which has lots of faces around a circle. Each face is different and represents Lismore's diverse community.

We are calling on community members involved in the Community Panels project to tell us about their experience.

We are currently reviewing this project and are looking at how we can work better with communities into the future.

We would like participants to complete a short survey and comment on the project’s highlights and challenges.

You can remain anonymous or provide your details. The feedback we receive will assist us in the review, and in developing better ways to work with our community in the future.

Community Panels Background

Almost six years ago, Council resolved to develop a Community Engagement and Partnership Program as part of the Imagine Lismore 10 Year Plan 2013-2023. The program aimed to improve community participation in decision-making, particularly in our rural communities.

Council committed to assisting local communities to plan and prioritise projects for their area that could be implemented in partnership with local community members, groups and other agencies.

We divided the Local Government Area into seven areas and over the following three years, community planning workshops were held in each of these Community Panel zones. The information gathered from local residents was used to create a Community Plan for each area.

Participants from the workshops were then invited to continue their involvement by joining Community Panels to oversee the implementation of the plans and provide feedback to Council when required.
