Community Update: December 10

Work is progressing on New Ballina Road. Activities such as kerb and gutter, stormwater upgrades, construction of the retaining wall, and building of the new pavement have now been completed.

Upcoming work includes the final trimming of the newly placed pavement to ensure the geometry of the road is per the approved design.

Following this, a low cutter seal acting as a waterproof membrane shall be placed on the gravel - currently scheduled for Saturday 11 December.

Contractors will then be engaged to lay an asphalt wearing surface. Following this, guardrail, road furniture and line-marking activities shall be undertaken.

Our schedule has been slightly delayed by inclement weather and, at this stage, we expect the road to be reopened by mid-to-late December 2021.
