Do you have a high-school aged child who dreams of seeing the world?

Join our Student Exchange Program to Lismore's Sister City, Yamato Takada in Japan

About the Program

Lismore's cultural friendship with Yamato Takada dates back to 1963, marking Australia's oldest Sister City relationship. Since then, both cities have fostered mutual student exchange visits, cultural and educational activities, tourism opportunities, and visits between Mayors, Councillors, and community members.🤝🎎

Our annual Sister City Student Exchange Program is a cherished legacy of this agreement, offering local high school students an unforgettable 12-day immersion into Japanese culture, cuisine, and history.

Unlike a typical tourist holiday, students stay with host families, attend local schools, and even engage with local dignitaries including the Mayor, gaining a genuine insight into life in Yamato Takada.
