Lismore City Council is currently developing a new Economic Development Strategy and seeking input from the business community.

Lismore’s education and health sectors have many strengths and opportunities. Our Economic Development Strategy will identify ways to support sustainable growth of our existing industries and services, and to encourage the development of new ones over the coming decades.

The following initiatives have been identified as starting points:

  • Enabling the agri-economy
  • River city lifestyle
  • Innovative and connected city
  • Cultural and sporting powerhouse
  • Growing professional services

Council has developed a discussion paper which details our economic landscape, our advantages and our challenges, and how we align with state and federal visions for the future. For more information please read our discussion paper here.

How you can get involve

The community workshops and survey have now concluded and information is currently being reviewed and collated. The Draft Economic Development Strategy will go on Public Exhibition and be available for comment from 9 October 2019. Council will upload the draft strategy onto this project page.
