    Council has established a Food Pantry next to the Evacuation Centre at GSAC.

    It is open to anyone who is need of food.

    The number of items are limited to 10 per family member.

    Subject to availability, items include fresh fruit and vegetables, dry goods and bottled water.

    The operating hours are between 9am and 10pm.

    Please enter through the gate next to the Evacuation Centre. DO NOT enter through the Evacuation Centre.

    Those in flood-affected areas who are currently cleaning their properties are also welcome to use the shower facilities at GSAC and have a warm meal.

    Thank you for your ongoing assistance supporting our Evacuation Centre.

    Today we are in need of:

    • Dry goods

    • Bottled water, soft drinks, boxed fruit juice

    • Sturdy steel or mesh shelves

    • Foldable tables

    • Cleaning products

    To assist, we ask people to drop of donations between 9am and 2pm.

    We are also asking people who want to volunteer to register on 6625 0500. This will allow us to roster all volunteers to ensure all times and services are covered and the Centre runs smoothly.

    • New underwear

    • Socks

    • Gardening gloves - heavy duty

    • Rags for cleaning

    • Thongs and shoes

    • Cleaning products

    To assist, we ask people to drop of donations between 9am and 2pm.

    We are also in need of volunteers to help sort the donations as we are currently experiencing bottlenecks in getting these items sorted and distributed to evacuees.

    The Goonellabah Sports & Aquatic Centre (GSAC) is now open as a SECOND EMERGENCY EVACUATION CENTRE.


    Due to the significant need for support, a second centre is required.


    The centre is located at 1 Wallerawang Dr, Goonellabah which is located off Oliver Ave.


    Domestic pets are also welcome.
