Project Update - February 2021

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas with us about what other improvements you'd like to see at Heritage Park.

We were really pleased with the response and we received over 80 wonderful ideas of how we can improve the park.

Some of the most popular contributions included:

  • Installing more shade over the new Tiny Tots playground and water play area.
  • Installing change rooms and toilets in the park.
  • Turning the railway carriage into a cafe.
  • Building a playground for older kids to enjoy.
  • Planting more native and sensory gardens.

Next steps

Our next job is to investigate your ideas and how much they will cost. Once we have a fully scoped and costed project, we will identify suitable grants to apply for. Please bear with us as this may take up to 12 months to complete.

There is funding already to install a footpath that will link Lismore City Hall to the Wilsons River through Heritage Park. This footpath will help to make the park more accessible and safer. We'll keep you updated on this project as it progresses.

In the meantime, please continue to enjoy Heritage Park and thank you once again for participating in this project.
