This past week the Project Team have been getting stuck into the demolition phase of the existing footpath.
Council appreciates the patience of businesses and customers around this time as we aim to keep business interruptions to an absolute minimum.
Priorities over the next few weeks are as follows:
- Restore temporary Keen St access to the Apollo Hall and Cut Loose Hair salon.
- Open up thru access for pedestrians along the shopfronts (Best and Less area)
- Install new Electrical and Storm water services from Suffolk Sports down to The Book Warehouse (only minor water disruption planned for Monday 29/08)
- Earthworks activities from Suffolk Sports to The Book Warehouse (no major business or access interruptions planned)
- The project team propose to work Sunday 04/09 for concrete cutting activities as an effort to minimise business disruption.
- - This will occur from Book Warehouse to Woodlark St. Public access will be restricted in this area on this day, however business owner, landlord and residential access will still be possible.
In the weeks that follow, new concrete footpath will be poured up to the Book Warehouse. Before progressing into the 2nd half of the project with demolition activities beginning at the Northern end of the Book Warehouse mid September.
Currently the Project Team are available onsite Mondays 3pm and Wednesdays 11am for discussions around construction staging and business interactions.
This project has been completed. Minor additions will be completed, before ongoing maintenance.
