Noisy works are to be completed on Sunday July 31, in an effort to minimise interruptions to businesses and pedestrians. Concrete cutting operations will commence for the inside block of Keen Street, footpath between Magellan and Woodlark Streets at 7am and be complete by approximately 4pm. Due to excessive noise and logistical issues, normal business operation will not be possible this Sunday. However business owner and trade access can still be achieved.
This will assist in removal as stages of the footpath are completed. Moving forward, the Project Team will aim to complete disruptive works on Sundays. If your favourite business operates on a Sunday, please check in with them before making a visit this weekend.
Safety for pedestrians and public access has been a major consideration in determining works for the remaining duration of the project. Over the coming weeks, changes to business hours and some shopfront closures is likely to occur across multiple stages. Please continue to support this business community, and check in directly for any changes to their trading hours or access.
Heavy machinery will be completing works, the footpath surface will change as parts are removed and additional work zone areas will be fenced. Pedestrian access around the work zones are still possible, however we ask that you take caution and notice of the fencing and barricades in place for your safety.
This staged approach has also been scheduled with the intention to minimise disruptive works to businesses in two short blocks. Council and the Project Manager will be completing walk through and discussing this further with businesses. If you would like to discuss further, please contact us directly.
Unfortunately due to the rain last week, there have been some delays to works. For the week ahead, the communications network and tie-ins to Essential Energy will be installed in the current section of works.
We appreciate the feedback and working with the business owners on this project, and are looking forward to finalising these works for the benefit of our community.
This project has been completed. Minor additions will be completed, before ongoing maintenance.
