Project Update Friday, 30 September
Over the past week, the Project Team have completed the demolition portion of the project. Allowing the Project Team moving forward to focus on civil, concrete and finishing works.
The concreters have poured the remaining concrete footpath in Stage 1 (first half of Keen St) and we saw the first mobilisation from the asphalt crew; profiling out the existing road pavement in order to meet the new levels.
Through pedestrian access has also been established with a second temporary crossing installed at Larkin Lane.
Priorities for the project team over the next week are as follows:
- The Civil works crew will be focusing on installing the new electrical network from the Book Warehouse to the Woodlark intersection.
- The concrete crew will be pouring kerb at the crossing early in the week with potential footpath pours in the top section of the footpath between Book Warehouse and the old Lismore Embroidery shop. (no shop closures planned until 10/10)
- Final road pavement works (Magellan st to the crossing) will be completed as soon as possible allowing the removal of site fencing and complete re-opening of the street in this section.
The Project Team currently have the following tentative dates for shopfront closures in order to pour the new footpath:
Ch 122 – 150 Denim Warehouse to Lismore Embroidery (no shops currently operating)
Footpath closed 06/10/22 to 11/10/22
Footpath to reopen 12/10/22
Ch 150 – 175 Adornments to Blooms Chemist
Footpath closed 10/10/22 to 13/10/22
