Project Update Friday, 7 October

Over this past short week, the Project Team has progressed the installation of the new underground power network and stormwater services. As well as completed a number of concrete pours in Stage 1, including the new Thai Satay Hut outdoor seating area.

Unfortunately, no through access for pedestrians to the shopfronts at this point, however this interruption is necessary in order to progress the works. Through access will be re-established as soon as possible to minimise interruptions to the flow of pedestrians.

Priorities for the Project Team over the next week are as follows:

  • On Monday 10/10 contractors will be returning to complete the new asphalt pavement in the parking lane. (first section of works) This will allow the re-opening of the street to pedestrians and vehicles to the centre crossing, with a temporary U-turn In place.
  • Concrete pours will be occurring in the top section of the footpath between the Book Warehouse and Blooms Chemist.
The project team currently have the following tentative dates for shopfront closures in order to pour the new footpath:
Closures for shops are as follows: (no changes)

Ch 150 – 175 Adornments to Blooms Chemist

Footpath closed 10/10/22 to 13/10/22

Footpath to reopen 14/10/22

Ch 175 – 225 Henrys Bakery to iRoll&Bowl

Footpath closed 17/10/22 to 20/10/22

Footpath to reopen 21/10/22

Currently the Project Team are available onsite Mondays 3pm and Wednesdays 11am for discussions around construction staging and business interactions.
