Caniaba Road - Pavement Rehabilitation Works (Feb 2023)

Council will be commencing pavement rehabilitation works to a section on Caniaba Road 1.7km to 2.1km West of Fredericks Road, to be completed throughout three months starting early February 2023 subject to weather, contractor, and material availability.

Funding has been secured through the Safer Roads Program to complete these works, which will improve road conditions and associated safety for road users. Additional works for Caniaba Road will continue to be assessed and reviewed.

What are the works?

  • Road surface: Improve the surface of the road in places. Road to be raised approximately 100mm.
  • Guardrail installation: Installation of a safety barrier.
  • Signs and line marking: Line marking and guideposts.
  • Vegetation management: Manage roadside vegetation to remove obstacles, improve sight distances, and clearances for signage.
  • Drainage maintenance: Re-excavate open drains and remove flood sediment as required


What are the traffic adjustments?

Road users are advised to follow signage and expect delays as these works are completed.
