Skyline Road - Geotechnical Drilling

***Update Thursday 1 September, 2022***

South Skyline Road closure will be extended until Wednesday 7/9/2022 next week due to difficult drilling conditions. We are aiming to have the rig off the road, and the road opened up over the weekend.***

Following the February 28 and March 2022 events, Skyline Road has suffered damage due to a landslip, adjacent to 353 Skyline Road. Funding has now been secured to complete remediation works.

To undertake remediation, geotechnical drilling under engineer supervision is required. Instruments to monitor further ground movement and water table will be installed for monitoring, to assist designers and determine the scope of works.

Drilling is expected to commence this week. Motorists will be advised via roadside signage. A track is available each way allowing access past the slip. Please use caution and drive carefully.

Further updates, including commencement of construction for remediation at a later date will be shared via the News Feed tab of this page.

Additionally, to receive updates directly please contact Lismore City Council via email council@lismore.nsw.gov.au or call (02) 6625 0500 to register your details and feedback. Please reference ‘Skyline Road Landslip’ in your correspondence.
