Completion of work delayed until February

Oakey Creek Landslip Repairs – completion of work delayed

We are incredibly sorry to have to inform residents that work on the Oakey Creek Road landslip will take another two to three weeks to complete.

We had hoped to have the road open by mid-January and apologise for this additional inconvenience after such a lengthy project. Contractors have informed us that the recent rain, while very welcome indeed, has delayed the final completion date.

Good stretches of dry weather are required to complete the remaining works including finalisation of the road, bitumen sealing and guard rail installation.

We now expect the road to be open by 21 February 2020 – but again, this is dependent on rain.

Our sincere and heartfelt apologies for this further delay. We are very conscious that people are frustrated and just want the job finished. Our contractors are working as fast as they can to complete the project.

Mountain Top Road Culvert Replacement – start of work delayed

Construction of a temporary side track around the Mountain Top Road culvert was scheduled to commence in mid-January but this work has been delayed.

We now expect the side track to be complete by the end of March. Once it is in place, work on constructing a new bridge will commence. We expect the new bridge to be open by June 2020.
