Update on roadworks: 26 November 2019

Council has been notified by the contractors managing the Oakey Creek Road landslip repairs that the expected completion date for this project is now December 2019. We had planned to finish in January 2020 but contractors are working hard to complete the project sooner and be finished by Christmas.

This has been a very complex and lengthy project and we would like to sincerely thank residents for your patience while these repairs have taken place.

Planning for the Mountain Top Road culvert replacement is now complete. We encountered some unexpected geotechnical issues, and decided to do more investigation work to reduce the possibility of the project encountering delays during construction.

Construction of a temporary side track around the culvert will commence in mid-January and this will provide ongoing access to motorists until a new bridge is constructed.

Once the side track is complete, construction of the new bridge will commence. It is expected to be complete by June 2020.
