The proposed amendment is now on public exhibition in accordance with the Local Government Act 1993 for a minimum of 28 days, and the community is invited to have their say.

Purpose of Engagement
The purpose of this engagement is to ensure the community can review and comment on the proposed changes to Clause 18.3 to help maintain effective, transparent, and orderly Council meetings.

Background
Council’s Code of Meeting Practice is based on the Model Code of Meeting Practice for Local Councils in NSW under Section 360 of the Local Government Act 1993 and the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021. It sets out how Council and its committees conduct meetings.

This change is intended to support the orderly and efficient conduct of meetings while ensuring that important business can be completed when needed.

In line with legislative requirements, the draft amendment must be publicly exhibited for at least 28 days, with submissions accepted for a total of 42 days from 24 July 2025
