Lismore City Council has commenced work to repair the Wilsons River cycleway.

The cycleway is below the Kirklands Carpark along the riverbank at the western end of Magellan Street. It is an important off-road link between Fawcetts Bridge (Lower Hensley Carpark) and the Rowing Club Carpark.

The cycleway was significantly damaged in the March 2017 flood and has been closed since.

Council received funding under the NSW Government’s Natural Disaster Relief Assistance Program to repair the site in mid-2019 and since then has been undertaking extensive investigations. This is a complex site that has a history of flood damage and needs significant stabilisation works.

Council expects to have work on the cycleway completed by July 2020.

We will keep local businesses and groups updated via ongoing direct Community Updates. You can also ask staff a question online at any time and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
