How long will it take to finish this work?

The work was originally due to be completed by early August 2019. Poor weather and other unforeseen circumstances have resulted in a revised completion date of late October/early November 2019.

What will it look like when it’s finished?

Once the contaminated material has been removed and the embankment has been reinstated, the area will be revegetated.

What is in the contaminated material?

Traces of bonded asbestos fragments and higher than acceptable levels of various metals

What is in place to ensure our safety?

An independent environmental consultant has been appointed to undertake air monitoring. We have 3 air monitoring stations around the site. Samples are taken daily, for analysis, from these stations.

Dust suppression measures are also in place to control dust. These include sprinklers and hoses on site.
