Following the Heritage Park consultation in 2021, this page will feature projects and upgrades for the park moving forward. Updates will be posted below in the News Feed.

From the consultation some of the most popular contributions included the following, which have been included in the project plans for the future of Heritage Park.

  • Installing more shade over the new Tiny Tots playground and water play area. (Completed)
  • Installing change rooms and toilets in the park. (Long Term)
  • Turning the railway carriage into a cafe. (In Progress - final use still to be determined)
  • Building a playground for older kids to enjoy. (Adventure Tower completed, Gigadome upcoming)
  • Planting more native and sensory gardens. (Nature Play upcoming)
  • Drainage (Completed)
  • Remove the bluestone rocks (Completed - replaced with a crushed granite river)
  • Seating around play areas (Completed - Sandstone arc seating installed)
