Consultation has concluded
Council has completed survey and geotechnical investigations for Eaton Bridge, and Sims Bridge, and is now in the process of designing the respective bridge upgrades.
In order to complete the replacements, funding must be sought. Council is committed to applying for applicable grants for state and federal funding to cover the construction costs for this project. At present the respective bridge replacements are eligible under Tranche 5, of the ‘Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP)’ grant.
Feedback was sought on these two bridges in 2024 from the community, however, the funding application was unsuccessful. Council is now calling on the wider community who uses these bridges to submit their feedback to better support the upcoming funding application.
The survey takes approximately 5 - 10 minutes to complete, with the feedback providing essential information to support the grant applications.

The new bridge is proposed to be built upstream to the existing bridge. Upon completion of the new bridge, the existing bridge would be demolished. The new bridge finished surface level will be raised approximately 2,000mm above the current finished surface level of the existing bridge.

A side track is proposed to be built downstream of the new bridge to provide for access during the construction project.
