LISMORE SEWER SYSTEM UPDATE
Share LISMORE SEWER SYSTEM UPDATE on Facebook Share LISMORE SEWER SYSTEM UPDATE on Twitter Share LISMORE SEWER SYSTEM UPDATE on Linkedin Email LISMORE SEWER SYSTEM UPDATE linkWith the SES issuing the All Clear for the Lismore CBD, North and South Lismore last night, Council needs our community to reduce our use of the sewage system. All of the CBD, North and South Lismore, Lismore Heights and parts of Girardโs Hill rely on sewage pump stations to dispose of sewage to the South Lismore sewage treatment plant. There are 12 of these pump stations located around those areas and none of them are currently functioning. These pump stations sustained significant damage as a result of the flood inundation and there is no power supply to any of them. Council staff are working to restore them to operation and also working on an interim solution to manage sewage in these areas. We expect to have some progress on these issues in the next 24 โ 48 hours. In the interim we need our community to limit their usage of the sewer system. We understand this will be challenging and inconvenient as people continue to clean up their properties but will assist greatly in managing the challenge. As an interim measure Council has arranged portaloos to be placed at different locations in the CBD and South Lismore and is sourcing more today. We are currently delivering portaloos to the Transit Centre, corner of Keen Street and Woodlark Street, Browns Creek carpark (behind the ANZ bank), near the railway station at South Lismore and Nesbitt Park at South Lismore. We thank the community for their ongoing patience. -

Auslan - NIMBIN NOW ON LEVEL 3 WATER RESTRICTIONS
Share Auslan - NIMBIN NOW ON LEVEL 3 WATER RESTRICTIONS on Facebook Share Auslan - NIMBIN NOW ON LEVEL 3 WATER RESTRICTIONS on Twitter Share Auslan - NIMBIN NOW ON LEVEL 3 WATER RESTRICTIONS on Linkedin Email Auslan - NIMBIN NOW ON LEVEL 3 WATER RESTRICTIONS linkDue to storm damage to Nimbinโs water supply, Level 3 Water Restrictions have been introduced, effective immediately.
Restrictions are due to the damage to the pipes that deliver water from Nimbin weir to the storage holding dam. The dam is currently at capacity and Council is exploring options to ensure supply prior, during and post the remediation phase.
The implementation of water restrictions will enable Council to investigate and repair the infrastructure that has been damaged to ensure we can gain access and repair the Nimbin water supply.
